What is the difference between Living and Existing?
According to Websters Dictionary the word Living can be an adjective or a noun. If using as an adjective the definitions are having life, active, functioning, exhibiting the life or motion of nature, full of life or vigor. If using as a noun the definitions are the condition of being alive, means of subsistence, conduct or manner of life. The word Exist is an intransitive verb. Exist means to have real being whether material or spiritual, to have being in a specified place or with respect to understood limitations or conditions, to continue to be, to have life or the functions of vitality, to live at an inferior level or under adverse circumstances.
But what do these words REALLY mean???? Do you understand their definitions or meanings? Do you feel these definitions? What does your heart tell you the meaning of living and existing are?
I was very recently posed a question similar to this. This question made me wonder on the definitions of these words. And reading what Merrim Webster had to say about it has made me question if he actually had knowledge of living. He may have gotten exist right.
Why is it easier to understand exist? Why is it harder to understand living?
How many of us go through this life wondering if we are existing or living? I know that I can’t be the only one.
