Here are the results of the Week 0 College Football games that I picked. A mixed bag, but I might have figured out a bit of what a few teams have for this season. Watching the ND State Bison beat Jax State was impressive. TCU was a huge disappointment and don’t sleep on Virginia in the ACC. Let’s review my predictions.
San Jose State at USC (-38.5 O/U – 61.5 points)
- Easy to pick the actual winner of this game. USC.
- I am going to give the 38.5 points and pick USC to cover the spread
- Give me the over. I think that USC will run up the score
San Jose State 26, USC 42
Win: Actual Winner, Over/Under
Loss: Point Spread
North Carolina vs TCU in Dublin. TCU (-8.5 O/U: 46.5 points)
- Picking TCU to win the actual game
- Giving the 8.5 points. I expect at 13 to 17 point victory for TCU
- I am going to take the under for this game.
North Carolina 15, TCU 10
Win: Over/Under
Loss: Actual Winner, Point Spread
NC State at Virginia (-4, O/U:51.5)
- I will give the 4 points and take Virginia which I believe is an up and coming team.
- Virginia does win the actual game
- I will take the over on the total points
NC State 8, Virginia 34
Win: Winner, Point Spread
Loss: Over/Under
Jacksonville stae at ND State (-6.5 O/U: 46.5 points)
- I will almost take The Bison at home in the FargoDome. That place rocks.
- 1st game in FBS for ND State. At home. I will give the points.
- I will take the over. The 4th Quarter is usually big for the Bison.
Jacksonville State 7, ND State 33
Win: winner, Point spread
Loss Over/Under
Sacramento State at Eastern Michigan (-9.5 O/U: 53.5)
- Winner: Eastern Michigan
- Point Spread: I will take the (.5 points and Sac State.
- Give me the under on this game.
Sacramento State 17, Eastern Michigan 28
Win: winner, Over/Under
Loss: Point Spread
New Mexico State at Florida State (-31.5 O/u: 53.5 points)
- Actual Winner: Florida State
- Point Spread: I give the 31.5 points and take Florida State
- Over/Under: I think that Florida State might go over by themselves. Over please
New Mexico State 17, Florida State 34
Win: Winner
Loss: Point Spread, Over/Under
Hawaii at Stanford (-4 O/U: 48.5)
- Actual Winner: Stanford
- Point Spread: Stanford (-4)
- Over/Under: Over.
Hawaii 27, Stanford 37
Win: Winner, Point spread, Over/Under
Memphis at UNLV (-4.5, O/U: 56.5)
- Actual Winner: Memphis
- Point Spread Memphis (+4.5)
- Over/Under: Over.
Memphis 27, UNLV 21
Win: Winner, Point Spread
Loss: Over/Under
Overall:
Winner: 7-1
Point Spread: 4-4
Over/Under: 4-4
Typical of how a start of a season usually starts. Picking the winners is usually not that hard and it wasn’t here (Thanks TCU for laying the proverbial egg). Even on point spreads and over/under is the usual. You have offenses that don’t show up (Jacksonville State, NC State) or teams that let off the gas (Florida State, USC) that cause you to lose your money or in my case have a worse record when it comes to my picking.
This next week will be the same thing. Every team now will play at least their first game of 2026 and this effect will last for the next couple of those weeks. But by Week 3, you might know what these teams are or aren’t when it comes to their makeup this year. But the Mountain West who thought they might have a contender for the Group of 6 Playoff Representative in UNLV took a major hit with the loss to the Memphis tigers of the American Conference who is also looking for that spot.
