I just received two blaster boxes today in the mail. A 2026 Topps chrome WWE Blaster Box and a 2024-25 DC Annual Blaster Box. Figured I would run down exactly what was in htose blaster boxes (Opps, Value boxes instead of blaster boxes). Value Boxes my ass. Anyways, let’s get to what I received
2026 Topps Chrome WWE Value Box
Just a few years ago, they would give you 6 packs of 5 cards each for 30 total cards. Now it is 7 packs with 4 cards each and that is only 28 in a value box. It was cheaper back then as well, significantly cheaper. Thanks U.S. Government. Anyways, here is what you should get in a value box besides base set cards
- 3 Diamond Plate Refractors
- 1 Base Refractor
- 7 Insert Cards
Well, I did pull those cards out. The 3 Diamond Plate Refractors were of Finn Balor, Earthquake, and Trish Stratus. The one Base Refractor was of CM Punk. Insert Cards were of Focus Rees (3) – JD McDonagh, Carmelo Hayes, and Nikki Bella. Eras of Excellence (3) – Hulk Hogan, Triple H, and Roman Reigns. Wrestlemania (1) – Junkyard Dog. My Value Box also had a Pink Ray Wave Reflector of Nathan Frazer numbered out of 250. The rest of the cards were base set cards.
So, this Base Set has 201 cards. Number 1-200 and #301. The cards #201-225 are alternative personas available only in Hobby Packs. #226-300 are Iconic Imprints which is also a Hobby exclusive. Added to that fiasco, there are 43 Base Parallels in this set. Hobby, Mega, Value, and First Day Issue have their own exclusive parallels. Any Geometric Autographs are Breaker Exclusives.
Overall, the set is okay. The look of the cards underwhelms me. It’s a basic design with the outside of the Ws from the WWE logo coming out from the bottom of the card. It looks like there are no action shots on the base set cards, at least from what I have seen. I do like that. I want to see who the card is of not have them half hidden by the body of their opponent.
Now to my list of things that I wish they would change. First, make every card available in each and every product. No exclusive autos or inserts in just hobby, mega, value, etc. Second, limit the base set cards to active wrestlers and people in front of the camera. I know that Bray Wyatt was taken from us too soon and is a legend, but I don’t need another card of him years after his death. Nothing has changed in his resume. Also, another Road Dogg card with a picture from a decade ago just is wrong. Third, I want some imagination in the insert sets. I don’t need more insert cards of Hulk Hogan, Triple H, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes, etc. It was nice to pull Carmelo Hayes and JD McDonagh. Yes, they aren’t the Superstars that reign in the promotion, but the young stars klike Hayes and Trick Williams to name two need more exposure and cards are one way of doing that. Finally, this criticism is related to the second one. Not everyone needs a card. Keep the limit of the base set at 100 or 150 cards. You have enough people that perform now to do that number and have most of the roster in it. Leave the NXT wrestlers off the list and count how many people on the Raw and Smackdown rosters you have. The number would surprise you. Utilize them and highlight a few of the NXT wrestlers that are being pushed and possibly will be called up.

2024-25 DC Annual Value Box
What is expected from the box
1 Premium Insert Per Pack is listed on the box. Since there are 6 packs of 6 cards each, you should receive 1 insert card and 1 Bluel Parallel each pack. So, you should receive 6 of each in a box.
We ran into problems here. The Variant Cover cards are listed as a parallel in all the listings, but apparently they could count as a Premium Insert Card. I pulled two Variant Cover Cards – Martian Manhunter and The Flash (Jay Garrick). If I add those to the 3 Insert card sets that I received a card of, then I have 5 Insert cards. I also received a Silver Sparkle Parallel card of Highfather. Apparently, that laso counts as a Premium Insert card. Maybe to them, but I get a headache trying to resolve what they consider an insert card and what I consider one.
- Shazam Insert Set (1) – Freddy freeman
- Wonder Woman Insert Set (1) Wonder Girl
- Nightwing Insert Set (1) – Dick Grayson
There are the three cards that I consider an insert card that I received. Not a way to make people happy. If you advertise an Insert Card in each pack, then parallels should not count.
I did receive 6 Blue parallels – Batman, Detective Chimp, Poison Ivy, Beast Boy, Green Lantern, and Killer Croc.
18 Base Set cards brings the number of cards in the box to 30. All numbered parallels are exclusive to hobby packs. So, you are buying the bare bones of this product with value boxes. In fact, all numbered cards in the entire set are limited to hobby boxes. Only one insert set is exclusive to hobby boxes and that is the Elseworlds Insert Set.
I have a soft spot in my heart for comic cards. It combined two of my favorite things when I was little. Comics and trading cards. It pains me to see how things have changed with the cards. I would love to see a kid age 12 get a value box and have a chance to get a special card. and the autograph that is in 5900 packs of value boxes isnt good enough odds. Why not throw a set of 499 produced insert cards in value boxes to interest people. I know that since I barely have a chance to pull anything but base set cards and inserts that are in hobby packs that aren’t numbered, I might buy one more value box and then switch to Hobby for this product. The nearest physical hobby store is over 100 miles away, so this might be the last I get of this product. Especially since they are counting parallels as insert cards.
